Discover the best Fourth of July celebrations in Oregon, located in some of the state’s quaintest towns and rural areas. Consider leaving the big city this year to enjoy Independence Day in a small town along the river or ocean, for an old fashioned celebration including parades and fireworks shows.
Astoria – Fireworks Over the Columbia River
Celebrate Independence Day along the mighty Columbia River in Astoria. Fourth of July events occur at the Fort Stevens Historic Area. The fireworks are launched over the Columbia River near the Columbia River Maritime Museum. The parade runs through downtown Astoria during the day with a variety of activities and attractions.
Corvallis – Red White and Blues Riverfront Festival
This 2-day music event takes place along the Willamette River in downtown Corvallis. Blues music bands perform while festival attendants enjoy food and drinks or dance in the street. The annual fireworks show is set off on the banks of the Willamette River by the Corvallis Jaycees.
Estacada – The Big Bang Estacada Fourth of July
Located east of Portland at the base of Mt. Hood, Estacada celebrates Independence Day with a big bang! Fourth of July events begin at 2:30 pm with the fireworks show beginning at 10:00 pm. Entertainment includes live music from local bands. Activities include skydiving performances, food booths, raffles and more.
Harrisburg – Harrisburg Old Fashioned Fourth of July
Join the celebration in Harrisburg for a fun-filled full day of events. Located just off of I-5 between Albany and Eugene, Harrisburg celebrates its largest event with a bang. Enjoy a big breakfast at the Firefighters Breakfast at the fire station beginning early on the 4th of July. The parade begins at 11:00 am, followed by a puppet show and kids games. Other events include bingo, flea market, book sale, chicken bbq, museum events, and more family fun. Live music is performed at the Riverfront Park Gazebo from early afternoon until just before the fireworks show. At dusk join the crowd down by the Willamette River, for a large fireworks display.
Independence – Western Days 4th of July Celebration
Independence Oregon celebrates its namesake, with a 3-day celebration called Western Days. The event runs from July 4th through the 6th, consisting of a carnival, booths, children’s games, art show, and live music. Events include a children’s parade, main parade, magic shows and concert performances. Fireworks are set off over the Willamette River, as event-goers watch from Riverview Park. Independence is located west of Salem off of Highway 22.
Rockaway Beach – Old Fashion Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks
Celebrate Independence Day at the beach, with old fashioned fun. The parade marches through downtown Rockaway Beach, followed by the 4th of July Auction. The Grand Fireworks show begins at dusk located at Rockaway Wayside beach. Rockaway Beach is located on the Oregon Coast about 37 miles south of Seaside or 16 miles from Tillamook.
St. Paul – 73rd Annual 4th of July Rodeo
An authentic wild west rodeo begins in St. Paul on July 1st until July 5th. The event is held at the St. Paul grandstands. A PBR bull-riding competition entertains rodeo goers, as professional bull riders compete for prize money. Rodeo activities include steer wrestling, barrel racing, bronco riding, dancing, barbeques, music and art show.
Fourth of July events include a parade, carnival and fireworks display following the last rodeo performance of the day. Children’s events include free pony and wagon rides before the big show. The small town of St. Paul is located north of Salem, just off of the Woodburn Exit.
